September already

It is a cooker here today. Hard to believe it is September with this kind of weather. The energy of the day feels timeless not Labour day and back to school energy. I am also finding myself not having to deal with summer is over and winter is coming state of mind. I cant begin to describe how great that feels.

I just went around the corner to get a couple of bacon egg Johnny cakes. While I was walking towards Rubies it hit me, I do not really want to go back to Canada and even though we are only going for 2 weeks, I am going to miss it here. Yes it will be nice to see friends and family, but the trip we know already is going to be very hectic cramming everything into such a short time to pack up and deal with all our stuff and see everyone. Visiting Playa del carmen in Mexico in April was a huge sensory overload and we did not even have to deal with a big airport. I can just imagine what Toronto will be like.

Heather  so true what you said.

September 3 2006

We went to a beach bbq birthday party yesterday and it was such a nice time. Got to meet some new people and see some we knew as well. After the bbq was packed up we all headed to the pool at he royal palms for a swim. During the day a few times Cindy’s bf Paul was saying this is the life, and yes it sure is. Hard to imagine anything more perfect.

We learned a good tip yesterday from Cindy. If you point at the road with your index finger that is the sign to hitch a ride on the back of someone’s golf cart. I am sure we will happen into another bike some point.

Later today we are going gatorade fishing. Tie some line to an empty gatorade bottle bate it and away you go.

They started moving out of the apartment next door Yay. So that means it will not be too long before we move in. I am expecting sometime mid month as I would like to stay on the same rent schedule. Once we get all set up over there we can have company as we are meeting more people all the time.

Thanks Heather I just love being near the water here for obvious reasons lol. It was a lot of fun and I am glad we are getting to know more people here. I was very happy for the invite to the party.

The water is fabulous Mike hope to meet you for a latte frappe at Island Perk one day.

Fishing

Fishing was great yesterday. We went to the protech / Belize yacht  club dock. Cindy and Paul had the gatorade bottles, line, hooks, sinkers, and sardines for bate. Paul and I brought the stealth bomber kite. The wind was perfect so I got it in the are and the kite flew itself I just tied it off to the dock.

Cindy was the first one to catch a fish as soon as she threw her line out. I caught 5 fish in total we were throwing smaller ones back, but some kids came along and wanted the small ones so we shared. Cindy’s Paul caught a couple and my Paul was not having any luck.

After it got dark we packed up and went to crazy canucks for a drink. Then back home for a late dinner.

When we were fishing I noticed that timeless feeling and how I was not thinking about anything but what we were doing and having a good time. I think of it as active meditation or living tai chi. Even though you are busy doing,  what you are doing allows your mind to have very clear focus and be present for long time periods without the mind wandering as it is so prone to do.

A promise to myself

Posted on Sep 6th, 2006 by Envision : creative beachgirl Envision
Sept 6, 2006 8:00 am Today when I woke up I felt inspired to get something done, so rather than wait too long and talk myself out of it, I started laundry. I got up got the sheets filled the laundry buckets and started my big chore. It takes a lot to hand wring sheets so I get Paul’s help sometimes. He does not really like it when I leave the sheets a bit drippy as he says they take longer to dry lol. So funny how different things affect people differently as to what riles them up. I am glad that Paul and I can deal with each others stuff relatively easy. I always joke around with him saying “I bet you never thought you would meet a quirky older woman and run off to an Island off Belize” I have heard him tell a few people that if anyone had told him this is where he would be a few years back and how he would be living his life he would probably not have believed it. Just goes to show that it is good to be open to all possibilities and not limit yourself to just what you see in front of you. A promise to myself: I am not going to sell myself short in life. I am going to be open and fully allow my greater good to come my way. I trust that the universe will light the way for me, and when it gets to dark to see the way I will always have my hand crank flashlight by my side :) ( Time to get busy go rinse the laundry out and hang it to dry.)

Turning mountains into molehills and finding dimes.

Turning mountains into molehills and finding dimes.

I took myself out to Island Perk today for a treat. Happy birthday to me I just turned 39. It really did turn out to be a treat cause Chap said Coleen was giving me a free one for helping put her in touch with an old friend. ( He was looking for her and Rick and found my blog on google search)

Last night was the full moon so Paul and I re-did our prosperity box. We have done pretty well with it so far. (Thanks Rosemary) I also took the opportunity to set up a small table in the bedroom to leave the prosperity box, my crystals, and a beach stone to all get a good long charge in the moon light.

It is very important now more than ever with all we want to accomplish to keep the energy strong and clear so we get desired results. I am really learning how to flow dream past obstacles and seeing how being open will allow for more options.

When it comes to our life and what we want for ourselves why not turn those mountains into mole hills.?

Our prosperity box is working already. While we were out our landlord Beto saw the cable guys about to disconnect at our new apartment next door, so he talked them out of it saying how we were taking over and moving right next door so they could leave it on and we would not have a re-connection fee. He also
gave us the keys to our new apartment early and said just pay him on regular schedule.

We picked up our paint colors today salty margarita for the living room and witches straw for the bedroom and most likely bathroom.

I put a couple of crystals in the new place and smudged it with Nag Champa ( my sweet grass and sage are back in Canada)

While cleaning I sprayed for bugs and when I came back there was a big one that had surfaced and died. I was thinking to myself better to find him now than later when we are moved in. All the work ahead of us to paint and get new place ready, I was wondering if we made the right choice to move next door so I asked for a better sign than the big dead bug. Well it came a few minutes after as I was pulling out the kitchen drawers and I found a Belizean dime which is pretty rare cause they stopped making them long time ago. Finding dimes has long been a sign of being guided and on track for me. So finding a dime in a country where they stopped making them was great one.

Thanks for the birthday wishes Mike  I took an l out lol. Will be sure to holler if i ever make it out that way. Hope you do same if you come here.

A room with a view

5:47 am cst

I totally enjoyed laying in bed this morning looking at the palm tree swaying in the wind outside our window.

We officially slept in our new apartment last night. Spent most of yesterday walking things over. Even though it was still a bit of work, this is the easiest move I have ever done. (walking stuff from one apt to the next bare foot  lol.)

It felt like such a celebration cause it was St George’s Caye day as well so there was a big parade and central park was full of people. They were handing out popsicles and cookies to the kids.

For the parade they had drummers followed  a bunch of girls in colourful skirts with batons, the Miss San Pedro girls were on the back Castillo’s flat bed hino truck with a glitzy sign. Lots of people had their golf carts decorated with red white and blue garland and Belize flags.

Today we have to get the last bits and pieces from next door and give it a good cleaning then we are totally done.

Being here feels right and I think it was a really good decision for us to take this apt.  There are small differences though, for some reason here the floors are not completely level, so we have to stick something under furniture legs to make things balanced. This place also gets way more sunlight I tried to look up uv window covers on eBay but did not turn up anything.

For some reason our internet is not working either even though Beto asked them not to cut it. We are lucky and able to pick up someone’s wireless at the moment. We will have to go tomorrow and ask them what is up because today is a holiday.

Thanks Bilgi I wish the same for you on joy and happiness.

8:00 am

Sitting here listening to Van Morrison he totally rocks. His energy matches the day perfectly. Warm sunny and a high 89 degrees lol

I missed the sunrise today it was at 5:42 am and I did not get out of bed till after 6:00.

I got the coolest thing on eBay today it is a digital clock that has a dial on it and it has 24 city time zones Now I can figure out easier what times it is for people I am meeting on the internet. So far Will in Australia has biggest difference (that I have calculated) of 16 h. Rosemary in Hong Kong comes in second.

Tomorrow I am taking a reef check course at Green Reef that will be exciting. Mito told me to come down for 9 am to see the film and do presentation. Then I will be caught up with the group and able to go out with them as a snorkeler on field work.

September 16 is world wide reef clean up day I want to participate in that as well. There was an article in the paper that all the local dine shops were getting involved so I spoke to Peter about it. Will have to drop by Pedro’s tonight and see if he has anymore info about what they are doing specifically and if he needs extra help.

Being underwater and seeing all the life there is such a cool thing. It is a whole other world under there. I find it very timeless and meditative, all else seems to disappear .

(I never did run into Mito the office was enpty when I arrived. I did get a nice bike ride out of it though)

Tonight I saw a shooting star from our veranda, how cool is that.

Note to self… do more night sky watching at the beach.

Hi Daibhidh that is not a picture of the actual event. It happened so fast actually I felt quite lucky to have seen it.

Reef clean up day

Posted on Sep 16th, 2006 by Envision : creative beachgirl Envision
September 16 2006 4:33 pm cst Reef clean up was fun I saw so many cool fish. Managed to get a couple of bags of garbage. Duck diving to the bottom every time I saw a bottle or something that needed to be cleaned up. http://www.projectaware.org/ On the way home I saw a big starfish (dinner plate size) in the water near Ramone’s that was so cool. Someone helped swim it out a bit as it was way to close to shore. I am wondering if it was not well, apparently the couple that was there had tried to help it get farther out yesterday as well. Afterwards I popped into town to see how much was collected from all the dive shops. There was a fair bit piled up. Sad though to know there is so much more garbage that needs to be cleaned up. I always see so much when walking along the beach. Tonight is the big Pirate party at the pier lounge. We have our costumes ready and I am getting excited. It will be a great time, especially now that we are getting to know more people here.

Daily Checklist

Sept 20 2006
9:38 am cst

Last night we went back to the belikin party and got more peel and eat shrimp yum. Afterwards I heard some noise and could see fireworks from our veranda so I booted it down to the beach to enjoy the show. We are having independence day celebrations here all week and it is nice to enjoy the fun. I can hear the kids in central park I will head down in a minute with camera and see what is happening.

I just finished doing first 4 movements in Fa Gong. Although I have only practiced this technique a few times, I notice a difference already. I can feel the energy that doing the exercises generates in my body, especially in my palms. I also notice an effect of enhanced clarity and receiving more messages.

Today I was not so into it, my mind was wandering, it was / is very hot and  it was hard to concentrate. I did the best I could to finish up the 4 exercises and though I found it hard to be fully present, I could still feel the energy flow.

Sending a shout out to Will for sending me dvd and cd rom. Very timely for me to be practicing Fa Gong right now as I needed to add some conscious movement to my daily list.
